About Us

D-HEST Departmental Technology Platform (BMPP)

  • The BMPP is a departmental research platform operated by D-HEST at ETH Zürich.

Mission Statement

  • The general mission of the BMPP as a small and dedicated research-driven departmental technology platform is to provide D-HEST with the capacity to develop and tailor biomedical and chemoproteomic technologies at the interface to the clinic to the benefit of human health.

Scientific Strategy

The BMPP acts as an integration and development technology platform among the four specialized areas of D-HEST, which are:

  • Food and Nutrition
  • Medical Engineering
  • Movement Sciences and Sport
  • Neurosciences

Mode of Operation

In keeping with the Proteomics platform’s mission to collaborate with the greater D-HEST community we encourage inquiries concerning potential collaborations.

How to setup a collaboration:

1. Contact Bernd Wollscheid (Platform Director) to discuss potential collaborations. If there is mutual interest, then:

2. BMPP will arrange a meeting to discuss the science. This meeting is meant to be an open scientific exchange to review background, existing data, exchange ideas, discuss experimental strategies, and determine if the collaboration is of mutual interest and if there is a mechanism in place to cover the costs.

3. If the project moves forward a Proteomic scientist will be assigned to the project. Together we will define the scope of the project and develop an experimental plan. Collaborator will then complete the collaborative project description form.

4. Once scope and budget are agreed, collaborator completes the quote initiation form and sends to the Bernd Wollscheid,

5. A quote will be generated.  All projects need to be funded before any work can begin.
